Bb natural minor scale correction

The error in the Bb natural minor scale found in the Free Downloads section – All major and minor scales – has now been corrected so if you have previously downloaded this pdf file, please delete it and download the corrected version.

The natural form of a minor scale shares the same notes as its relative major so the notes found in Bb natural minor will be exactly the same as Db major – Bb   C   Db   Eb   F   Gb   Ab   Bb – sharing the same key signature of 5 flats.

C Sharp Major Piano Scale Video Tutorial

C Sharp Major Piano Scale Video Tutorial

Learn how to play the C sharp major piano scale with this piano video tutorial which includes the notes and fingerings of the C sharp major scale, played at slow speed to help you learn and practice the scale along with the tutorial.  The video shows both the right and left hands together so if you wish to practice with hands separately, repeat the video for separate hand practice.

C sharp is the enharmonic of D flat so this means that the C sharp major scale and the D flat major scale share exactly the same piano keys and for this reason, the very same fingerings.  However, following the rules of music theory, in D flat major the physical piano note C sharp will be written as D flat, D sharp will be written as E flat, and so on.

Many students prefer to learn the scale of D flat major rather than C sharp major because D flat has only 5 flats in the key signature whereas C sharp major has 7 sharps!  However, the key of C sharp major does exist and an example could be the Prelude and Fugue in C sharp major by J.S. Bach
